NO STUDENT LEFT BEHIND: 
GIVING PARENTS A VOICE IN THEIR CHILDREN'S EDUCATION

Parents United for Education (www.voice4parents.com) is a broad coalition of citizens, immigrants, community groups, labor, churches, elected officials and many others to pass Proposition F, the Immigrant Voting Rights initiative in the November 2004 election. Introduced by Board of Supervisors President Matt Gonzalez, the measure will extend the right to vote in school board elections to all parents with children in San Francisco public schools, regardless of citizenship. The initiative will empower the parents of one-third of our children in San Francisco public schools to have a saying as how their children are educated. 

HOW YOU CAN HELP

1. ATTEND THE PROP F CAMPAIGN KICKOFF RALLY! SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 18TH from 6-9pm at the
Women's Building (3543 18th Street, between Mission and Guerrero)  Please join us as we continue our effort to give a voice to all parents during school board elections! Our broad community coalition is quickly gaining momentum and needs your support! This high-energy event will begin with a special greeting from Matt Gonzalez and feature various other speakers including parents, youth, community leaders, and elected officials.

2. MAKE A CONTRIBUTION! We opened the official campaign committee, and need to raise significant funds to convince thousands of voters to support this measure. Please make a contribution TODAY (as large as you can!). Write a check to "A Voice for All Parents", and mail it to Carlos Petroni, 3311 Mission Street, Suite 135, San Francisco, CA 94110. And ask everyone you know to contribute! 

3. SIGN UP TO VOLUNTEER! We need people to make phone calls, speak to organizations, organize fundraisers and other campaign events, and help with the myriad aspects of the campaign. Click HERE for a Volunteer Sign Up Form (MS Word). Fill it out TODAY, and mail it to David Chiu asap (via email or postal mail -- David's contact information is on the form). 

4. HOLD THE DATE FOR THE BACK-TO-SCHOOL KICKOFF. We will have a back-to-school kickoff event -- with hopefully hundreds of supporters -- on or around September 18th. Pencil that date NOW! 

5. TELL EVERYONE YOU KNOW ABOUT THIS INITIATIVE. I have attached a document that list reasons and current endorsers in support of the initiative. Let Carlos Petroni at alternative @ sbcglobal . net know if you convince an organization or individual to endorse the measure. SPREAD THE WORD!
